ZRC SAZU is committed to upholding the principles of equal opportunities in research, which means fair behavior and treatment of everyone involved in the research process and support activities. This also includes eliminating all forms of discrimination based on gender, nationality, race or ethnic origin, language, religion or belief, various forms of disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, social status, economic situation, education, or any other personal circumstance (as stipulated in the Slovenian Anti-Discrimination Act, Article 1). These principles require the prevention and sanctioning of any violations.

ZRC SAZU places particular emphasis on gender equality in the workplace. This goes beyond eliminating discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, identity, and expression. It also involves proactive efforts to address structural inequalities, as well as combatting gender stereotypes and biases.
