MUSIQUM | A Digital Panorama of the 19th Century Musical Heritage in Slovenia
The MUSIQUM relational database offers a comprehensive digital overview of Slovenia’s musical heritage in the 19th century. It contains detailed profiles of musicians, information on compositions, notable musical events and various sources closely related to the historical landscape of Slovenia during this period. This database is more than just a source of information. It offers valuable insights through meticulously transcribed concert programs and detailed reconstructions of musical events from cities such as Ljubljana, Celje, Maribor, Ptuj and Trieste, based on periodicals, correspondence and various other historical sources. MUSIQUM long term goal is collecting, organizing and transcribing a wide range of accessible materials which together shed light on the Slovenian musical landscape of the 19th century. Its long-term goal is to provide a detailed and visually rich insight into various facets of this heritage, including musical dedications, music-related correspondence, the musical topography of Ljubljana, the dynamics of the music market and a detailed list of musical events in the Estates Theater and other venues. In this way, MUSIQUM not only preserves historical information, but also weaves a visually captivating narrative about an important chapter in Slovenian music history. Chair: dr.
